Fox Removes Networks from Sky Brazil

Fox Networks Group LA is withdrawing its networks from Sky Brazil, citing "commercial and distribution conditions below market value." Negotiations continue for the rest of Latin America.

After tense negotiations between Fox Networks Group Latin America and Directv in the region, this week Fox announced it will finally remove its networks from Sky Brazil's offer in the country.

"Fox Networks Group Latin America informs its fans that after several months of negotiations to keep the distribution of its current networks Fox, FX, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, Fox Life, Fox Sports and Fox Sports 2 on the Sky platform, it couldn't, unfortunately, reach an agreement," the company said in a statement.

The company said the "commercial and distribution conditions offered by Sky are below market values, and the value and relevance of the content the audience chooses and enjoys."

Fox offers sports content like the Copa Conmebol Libertadores Bridgestone and original productions like 1 Contra Todos, which will now be available through other pay TV services.

"These and hundreds of hours of entertainment will continue to be available to the audience in Brazli through other pay TV systems," the company explained.

"Fox Networks Group Latin America apologizes to its fans for this situation and guarantees dialog will always be open, and it will do it's best to guarantee fans have access to their favorite shows like The Walking Dead, Los Simpsons, Homeland, Legion, 24: Legacy, Prison Break, The Americans, Scream Queens, American Crime Story, American Horror Story, Modern Family, Genius, Historia de Dios."

As for the rest of the region, the company is still in negotiations and further news should be announced this week.
