Historic Ratings for the Final Match of the Libertadores Cup

The game between River and Boca played in Madrid reached an average 37 rating points in Argentina, thus coming on top of the first match of the final.

As expected, the final match of the Libertadores Cup between River and Boca played this past Sunday in Madrid delivered historic ratings for pay-tv in Argentina.

According to the main media outlets in the country, FOX Sport's broadcast of the game reached an average 37 rating points and peaks of more than 40, thus coming on top of the first match of the final, which had scored 30 points on November 11.

Putting things in context, Telefe, the main competitor, barely reached 4.0 rating points thanks to the movie Walk the Line.

The match ended 3 to 1 with River Plate as the winner, earning the title of the best team in South America.

The Libertadores Cup will return to FOX Sports next year after a deal with the Conmebol until 2022.

However, some matches in the upcoming three seasons will air exclusively on social media site Facebook.
